Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

I am in pursuit of finding the best local Pizza joint in the SE!!! THIS my friends.....is one of my TOP 3! The crust was soft yet chewy, and easy to bite into without all of the toppings coming off. The toppings were plentiful and the cheese was overflowing. This place takes their cheese seriously!! The best part about it for me... Was that the toppings were underneath the cheese, it was cooked well done, and cut into squares...... Just the way I like it! There were no "pizza bones" left with this pie!! I ate every single cheese covered piece. I have a 4 hour drive home tomorrow... I'm hoping the leftovers will survive the trip.

Deroma's is always a solid for takeout! The delivery times are usually a bit longer than I would like, so I tend to make the trek up to just pick up my pie myself. I wouldn't really recommend dining in, this is definitely more of a takeout/delivery place. The seating is just enough to accommodate those who are waiting for their meals to come out of the oven, nothing too terribly comfortable. There are plenty of toppings to create your own pizza, which we like to do. I really can't find any complaints about this pizza, just isn't the most amazing I have ever had. With that said, it is certainly on par for some of the best in Mt. P. Just not THE best. I'm still searching for that one...

Very tasty food. Yummy Greek salad, garlicky garlic bread comes with sauce to dip. Cheese pizza approved even by my 4.5 year old, and even though it was square versus round. I didn't realize when I picked the dinner restaurant that the dining part would be so hot. I was over in the area doing errands so I was not familiar with the place, and went purely based on yelp reviews. I would carry out again, but I would not dine in again because the ovens make the dining table area super hot.

If I could rate zero, I would. Because, we ordered pizza to be delivered to hotel. After hour and twenty minutes, I called to find out where my pizza was. They said driver couldn't find hotel. Driver didn't call my phone even though they had number. They then said I'd have it within five minutes. After twelve minutes I cancelled order. In other words, they fail to deliver on their commitments to get us what we ordered. No idea if they make good pizza-- if they never get it to you, doesn't matter.

Pizza was tasty, but for nearly $20 the large pizza was barely enough for three people. I certainly expected more from a large pizza, especially for the price. I would recommend this to someone else, just make sure you buy the party size if you have more than 2-3 people. As a visitor in the area I don't know what other pizza options are available but I regularly eat non-chain pizza at home (Wilmington, NC) for less.

Small dinning in area, only 3 tables, but the pizza was very good. The pizza dough reminded me of a European style pizza available at little mom and pop pizza stand.

Got the party size pizzas which I thought were very reasonably priced for what we got. Good pizza that everyone enjoyed. Very nice guy who took my order over the phone. Nice customer service. Clean place

Fantastic. Stayed at Wild Dunes and Deroma's delivered. Both figuratively and literally. We had a party of 10. Ordered a couple of sandwiches, a pizza, some garlic bread, manicotti, greek salad and some pizza dippers. Everything was spot on. The dippers were amazing. Nobody complained, everyone raved. Even with a big tip everyone ate for less than $10. I would highly recommend Deroma's to anyone in the area looking for some good Italian take-out.

Stopped in last night because we bought a Living Social deal. The service: The gentleman at the counter was GREAT! Super friendly, very helpful, and a CofC grad! The atmosphere: We knew this place wasn't really meant for dine-in; however, we decided to stay and eat anyways. There are two tables with four chairs each. Plenty of room for us to eat and take in the wonderful smells! The food: The salad was ok. Lots of it, but was hard to eat due to the size of the vegetables. They also give you salad dressing in a packet form, which I am not a fan of. The mozzarella sticks were ok. I would have preferred them to be a cooked a little longer, and the marinara sauce was cold. The pizza had good flavor, was a large portion for the price, but was very greasy. I am a picky pizza person (I admit it, growing up in Chicago made me that way), so perhaps I am being a little harsh with my 3-star review. I will not be rushing back to this place, but would eat it if were put in front of me.

Excellent! Best pizza we've had in years!! And fast delivery! A large is great for a family of 4. Very fresh and worth every penny.

Joshua will make your experience very pleasant. He anticipated all of my requests. I didn't have to ask for anything. In addition to great service, the decor suggests you are in New York restaurant and the pizza tastes great.

We have tried other places for pizza and subs but always return to DeRoma's! Their service is excellent and food is absolutely awesome!
(5)Bruce K.
More of a takeout or delivery place, though they have three or four tables that are mostly for waiting for your pickup order. I suppose you could eat there if you really want to. Since it was just me, a pizza would have been too much but I did get one of their meatball parmesan sandwiches to go. Nice and hot, it had a decent amount of cheese and the meatballs were nicely sized with a good texture. I'd have it again.

I can honestly say that my family orders from Deromas once a week, I have them on speed dial. The pizza is always awesome and we typically get a big Greek salad. They have a massive party pizza at a great price which is helpful when you find yourself with a half dozen teenagers raiding the fridge at dinner time!
(5)Loni S.
We're visiting Isle of Palms and had Deromas delivered to the house. Great Greek salad and pizza is awesome!! Manicotti was excellent. Very fresh--will definitely order again.
(5)Rob K.
Great pizza. Had both the Hawaiian and the Supreme. Hawaiian was the best I've ever had and we all enjoyed both pizzas. Fantastic place for take out, one of the best if not the best pizza in Mt P.
(5)Scotty C.
Not much in the way of delivery in Mount Pleasant which makes this spot my typical go to if I want to avoid all the chain pizza spots. I love the party pizza and it will usually be lunch for a couple days. It used to be one giant rectangle pizza but is now two separate ones but that makes it more manageable. The other positive is that you can get them with different toppings if you want. My favorites are the Hawaiian and Peperoni with Mushroom. If you're extra hungry they have wings too and dessert options as well. Tiramisu delivered... yes please!
(4)Kristen D.
We ordered pizza to pick up on our way back to our house while staying in Isle of Palms. The sausage and green pepper pizza was absolutely delicious! The pineapple pizza had an ample amount of pineapples on it, but the crust was just a bit too chewy for me. Perhaps it's my preference for a LOT of sauce and a LOT of cheese on my pizzas, but I'd likely try other pizza places in the area before I returned here again. For all intents and purposes, the pizza was still good!

Truthfully, sometimes you just want a great slice of cheesy pizza, and not think one single minute about the calories. Sometimes, you just need a good junk food fix. Football games and late night hanging out with friends generally doesn't include a healthy salad with pretzel sticks; you want the good stuff. :-) Head to DeRomas for the best white pizza (or regular pizza) around. They also have an amazing Greek salad you don't want to miss (it's definitely enough for two). Carryout or delivery, you'll be glad you called them (until tomorrow when you're watching what you eat again). Service is great, too! They're eager to please and do a great job of it.

Ordered pizza for a big Game. I ordered large combo. It was huge. Sauce was delicious. Lots of toppings. Ordered salad as well and it was also very good. Service was fast and pizza was hot upon delivery. Our Game was awful but our good was good.
(5)Mike M.
The pizza is pretty good, but not great. Good cheese with not a lot of sauce is what I like and I wasn't disappointed. Square pizza is fine but the pieces were fairly small. A size large wouldn't satisfy a hungry family. Prices are good. Overall satisfying but not spectacular.

Love DeRoma's! Quality pizza for delivery & cheap! We have been in Mt P for a few weeks now and have had DeRoma's delivery multiple times LOL Order away!
(5)E M.
Placed an order for delivery and was told I should receive my order in "about 45 minutes." An hour and a half later, it he delivery driver showed up with the cold pizza. I have never had a problem with the Pawleys Island location, but this will probably be my first and last time ordering from the Mt Pleasant location.

Great pizza. We got carry out so i cant comment on the building. But the pizza was great.
(4)Robert G.
Very tasty pizza - though we typically get the same one! Home delivery is always on time and hot.
(4)Anastasia A.
DeRoMa's pizza is my FAVORITE! It's so fresh and the sauce is to die for. It's also really convenient and the delivery is fast. I recommend a pizza with feta and pineapple or a greek salad!
(5)Jackie D.
Decent Greek salad: tasty feta, crisp lettuce, really ripe tomatoes. But the dressing was Ken's and the olives were super salty. White pizza didn't impress: too much onion, not enough garlic.
(2)Maria T.
Loved crust, sauce, ingredients, speedy delivery and hate i didnt discover u sooner! Thank you for awesome pizza and i really look forward to our next pizza night!
(3)Eva S.
Great pizza, terrible customer service.
(3)Rachel M.
We love DeRoMa's!!!! so, much that we eat it almost every Friday night! Great crust, fresh ingredients, and delicious sauces. You can't find a better pizza in Mt Pleasant, in our opinion.
(5)Ross N.
Went tonight . Ordered two topping large. Banana peppers and ham. Should have checked before I left. No ham and few banana peppers. Had coupon for it. Called them and they said they would do better next time. Doubt there will be one. A lot better places then this. There is a reason they have to give coupon for customers. Box says the best pizza period. Wish that was true.
(1)Rich D.
Excellent flavor and crust. Good selection of pies. Fresh salads. Good service. Highly recommend for take out.

On vacation and wanted some good pizza. This place is tucked away in a shopping complex. It's small with only two tables but has a brisk take-out/delivery business. Don't expect anything fancy, it's all plastic forks and paper plates here but that's ok with me. It's the food that counts. Pizza was very fresh and the ingredients were delicious. Great crust too. We're pretty picky about pizza (can't stand the big chain pizzas) and we were very satisfied. Prices were reasonable for the quality of the pizza, but not cheap either. I'd rather pay extra for something hand crafted and of good quality. We will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone.

We were on vacation on the Isle of Palms, looking for a good delivery place that wasn't a chain. Discovered Deroma's Pizzeria, and we were pleasantly surprised. Great service, and the crust wasn't one of those large uncooked type. Instead it was done just right, not too crispy and not soggy. Good way to end the day in our condo on the beach.

DeRoma's pizza is good. They're service, however, is terrible. I work a mile away from this particular restaurant and order pizza there for my office staff often. Today when I ordered, I used my personal card instead of our work credit card. DeRoma's did not offer a receipt to our front desk agent, therefore I have no proof to give our bookkeeper that I paid for this pizza while at work. I called DeRoma's to let them know, assuming they had forgotten to give us a receipt and would graciously offer to bring it by. I was asked by the employee WHY I wanted to speak to the manager, and finally got him on the phone after 2 attempts. The manager was quite rude, let me know that they never issue receipts (this seems strange to me) and told me that he was not going to bring it out to me a mile away, because he did not want to "waste one of his drivers on that." He finally agreed to email me the receipt, which I have yet to get and hope to receive by tomorrow. It's sad that we won't be using this business anymore, as I can't support a local business that treats another local business, or anyone for that matter, so rudely. If you need a receipt from DeRoma's, be sure to ask for one.

We love DeRoMa's. We are from NJ and this is one of the few places we enjoy getting pizza from. Don't get me wrong it isn't Jersey Shore or NYC Pizza, but it is really good. This is really a take-out/delivery place. There are only a couple of tables and it feels a little odd eating in the restaurant. Nonetheless you can eat there if you want to.
(3)Greg G.
Good pizza. I thought the price was reasonable.4 slices, 2 soft drinks for $9.50
(3)Kyle E.
Literally as good as it gets. This pizza is unbelievable. It is square pizza cut into smaller squares. The crust isn't too thin nor too thick, just right in my mind. They have good deals and coupons online and every pizza box. Get a party pizza, which is basically 2 extra larges for 20 bucks. Garlic bread is good too. I recommend this place whole heatedly.

The best pizza in Mt. Pleasant!!!!
